Kindred Spirits at the Beaufort Twilight Run

Towards the end of March, we got a visit from a wonderful long-time friend, and her beautiful six-year-old son. It was the first time they met Allen (well, technically, they met him while he was still in my belly). From the moment of their first meeting at the airport, Allen and H got along famously.
It took Allen only a few hours to declare that H was his best friend. And H handled the near-worship that Allen bestowed upon him beautifully. H was patient and kind. He made sure Allen was entertained and included. It was one of the sweetest things I've ever witnessed.

H and his mom, P, arrived just in time for the 2nd Annual Beaufort Twilight Run (benefiting Riverview Charter School). Sadly, I only captured one picture of the boys together (I know ... it's awful, stop shaking your heads in disapproval). It was as they were getting ready for the Kids Fun Run. Which, in the ultimate display of kindness, H walked with Allen, even though I know he really wanted to run.

After the race, Allen, H, and "the girls" got airbrush "tattoos" (OK, and me too. I got a ladybug on my cheek). Here are some pics ...

More to come soon!

xoxo,
AHC

There are some pictures on the official website of the boys. I downloaded them, but they have a watermark on them. I don't think I captured ANY pictures of this with my camera. We had so much fun living the experience, who had time to stop and take pictures?
