Dancing in the Kitchen and the Red M&M

Apparently, when I announce that it's bath time, it means that Allen should strip in the middle of the kitchen and dance around ...

Evidently, he was still in the dancing mood, because we got this little show after his bath. Do you think maybe he watches too much TV?

Boys and their toys; new friends

D bought a set of model airplanes, and the boys put them together.

Once they tired of flying them around the condo, one of them got a brilliant idea, and soon we were all out on the balcony either participating or watching (and documenting of course )...

Thursday we did a little shopping, and Allen made a new friend. Her name is Maddie. After chasing Maddie around and entertaining the staff in the shop, he proceeded to poop. Maddie sniffed his butt a few times, and finally he allowed me to change him in their bathroom.

As soon as I got finished with that, we had to rush out of the shop so I could make my pedicure appointment. I felt so bad. Our kid tormented their dog and then pooped in their shop, and we didn't even buy anything. Our apologies to the kind folks at Bobby Chan!

Allen and his new friend Maddie (one of the Maddie's owners told her to sit, and Allen thought she was talking to him. So he sat too.)

Thursday evening was spent at the condo. Brian and I made picadillo for the group, and then we scattered to various areas of the condo to watch different things.

Look how cute D and Brian are cuddled on the bed together to watch the Eagles game!
The kids snuggled in our room to watch Ice Age 2.
Shortly after the above picture was taken, poor little E took ill with what turned out to be a kidney infection. She ended up spending Friday and Saturday night in the hospital, poor baby. We're wishing you a speedy recovery little one!

Because of the circumstances of the next 24 hours or so, these are the last pictures I have of our vacation. Hope you enjoyed them all as much as we enjoyed the trip! Thanks D & W for such a fun and memorable vacation!

How do i look?

I have a confession to make. Sometimes I let Allen play with things that I know he'll make a mess of just so I can finish what I'm doing. That's what happened this morning.

I had an eyeshadow case out (to use as a second mirror to check the back of my head ... I was trying out a new style ... more on that later) and it was sitting on my vanity. I was done with it and had moved onto my makeup (I don't use the eyeshadow in said case any longer). Allen asked to see it. Then he asked me to open it.

Here's where the mental debate came in ... if I open the case, he'll make a mess. But if I don't, I risk a tantrum (which these days is pretty much a given). If I open the case, I can finish putting on my makeup in peace. But, I'll have to clean up a mess ... Check out the pictures to see which side won ...

Does he not totally look like he's saying "Mom, how do I look?" in that last photo?

I did have a mess to clean up ... but it was better than a tantrum.

Onto my hair ... So I decided to go with the "messy pigtail bun" look today. Sadly I have no pictures of myself in this sassy little do, but I did find this picture in my google search (be warned: if you search for "pigtail buns" and look at images, you might come across some questionable photos).
Anywho ... my hair looked similar to the image above. Once we were ready, Allen and I went right outside into the hot and humid air. The 'do was perfect for the weather. But, alas, I forgot about the fact that as soon as Allen gets grumpy/sleepy/snuggly he wants my hair DOWN.

The things I do for love. So, now I ask you, "how do I look?"

It's so pretty isn't it? It's like Kristen's new hair on steroids. Waaaay over the top flipping!

Elephant, regression

The second half of the week around the Craig household is pretty crazy. Mommy is off to work, and Allen is playing with "Miss S" all day. So when Mom and Dad get home, things are hectic ... trying to get dinner ready, and to finish laundry, and to talk to Allen. I think Allen has decided to take matters into his own hands.

Last night, he walked into the kitchen, and said, "Take a picture of me." And this is what we saw when we turned around:
Here he is admiring himself in the mirror ...
To add to all the craziness, one of my customer's asked if she could borrow some stuff for her grandchildren while they're here this week. We lent her Allen's Lightning McQueen trike for her 2 1/2-year-old grandson, and the exersaucer you see below for the six-month-old. Once Allen saw it, he seemed to regress fairly quickly, as you can see.

Once I cleaned up the above toy and loaded it in the car to take to my customer, Brian had to work to console Allen because he was crying so hard over the loss of his rediscovered toy. But once he found out that a baby needed it, he was OK.

Speaking of regression, Allen ended up in bed with us almost all night last night. Yesterday morning he awoke screaming. He told me later that he screamed for Mommy because "a big jet was hurtin' me" (we live in the flight path of the local Marine air station). I don't think a jet was flying at 6:00 a.m., but he may have dreamed about it. That fear seemed to stick with him last night. Hopefully tonight will go better because both Mommy and Allen were pretty tired this morning.

Phone Conversations

When I'm on the phone with some you, sometimes I tell you that Allen is hugging my head. Well, this is what I mean.On this particular occasion (I was talking to Kristen), he was also finding great pleasure in tickling his nose with my hair.

Hope this sheds some light on what I go through to talk on the phone :) Ya'll are definitely worth it though!!
