Murphy Day!!!

The waiting is finally over. Murphy was delivered today. We had prepped Allen, so all morning he kept saying, "Muphy Henicks comin' !" He couldn't wait to see him. As soon as Lori and Carol arrived, Allen wanted Murphy to sit on his "yap." Here they are getting to know each other a little bit.
(Notice the lovely quilt, made by Carol. She made one for each of the pups. Isn't that sweet??)

Here are some other lovely shots of the little guy ...

Sleeping on Daddy (he does a lot of this)

Bedtime Story ... both boys so sleepy!

Playing next to Mommy

So far, he's a perfect little pumpkin. The perfect puppy for Allen because he is very content to sit on someone's "yap" and sleep. He's done some exploring, but I think he's pretty worn out from such a big day.

Thank you so much to the Clark family for such a wonderful puppy. And thank you Lori and Carol for driving him up here to us today. We love you all so much!

Murphy Hendricks, Strange Pants, Cute Face

So here are the three boys from the litter! Which one will be our little Murphy Hendricks? I cannot wait to meet them to see their little personalities, and to see which one Allen bonds with most. He is very excited. He looked at all the pictures tonight, and pointed at them all, saying "Look!" (And yes, everyone, I ignored your advice against me getting one. Look at those faces! How can I resist??)

Moving on ... so Allen got these adorable pants from Mini Boden (thank you Nana). And I love them, but I think the back pockets are a little big, don't you?

As Brian pointed out, his little butt is already big enough with the diaper. Do we need the huge pockets to further accentuate it? Oh well, maybe they won't seem so huge once he is diaper-less.

Finally, here are a couple cute pictures of my kid's adorable little face. Every time I want to rip my hair out over his terrible-two-antics, I think of, or look at, this adorable face and my heart melts.

xoxo my friends,
P.S. Thank you, Clark Family, for the great photos of the puppies!

Naughty puppies, toes, cherries

Kristen ... this one's for you :)
As ya'll know, Kristen was here about a month ago, while our Mom went off to Grand Cayman with our Dad. I had several posts that discussed Kristen's visit, including one of her making our drinks, but those were with my camera. So here are a few more pics of her visit that were taken with her camera. Hope you enjoy ...

I forgot to close the bathroom door, so the puppies got in and did some damage ...

Allen is trying to keep his maraschino cherry away from the pups (Kristen was making Manhattans again this night, hence the cherries).

Mom took us to get pedicures. I convinced Kristen (after the woman offered it to us) that we should get little designs on our big toes. Look how pretty!

People Wait! Boogie Night

Before I post about the Peanut, I'd like to say that I don't like any of your responses to my puppy post. C'mon guys, I want a new "baby," but I'm not ready to have one of the human variety. Support the need ... is it really that much more expensive to have two? (that's not a sarcastic question ... I'm serious. I've never really noticed the expense of having Mia. Is it noticeable with two dogs?). Though, I have to say that with four negative responses, my confidence is wavering. Anywho ...

Tonight, my child was atrocious at the meeting. I can't even begin to explain how bad he was. Testing limits ... yelling ... I don't know what came over that child, but I was at my wits' end. It didn't help that Daddy is still sick and stayed home tonight. But I don't think that was all it was. That child deliberately did things I told him not to do. It was awful. Even Nana was surprised and said, "he's testing you." If she says something negative about the Peanut, then you know he was naughty.

Two positives from the meeting though ... 1) he said "Amen" really loudly and enthusiastically at the end of the meeting (we were in the bathroom for the first prayer because he was throwing a fit, so maybe he said it super loud to make up for that); 2) when the first two people walked out of the Kingdom Hall, he yelled, "People, wait!" and continued to yell that for the rest of the time we were there. Except for when he was rolling around on the floor ... oh and on the stage too (see what I mean about being naughty?)

Also, we discovered today that he now says, "I got you man (or I got chew man)." I'm not sure where he learned this, but it certainly is amusing.

Now onto more positive things ... dinner with the Todds during our Pennsylvania trip. Allen and Ava were hilarious. Here are some shots at dinner ...

Uncle Brian taught Ava to stick her tongue out (I'm sure her Mommy and Daddy are forever grateful for that one)

Contemplative Ava

What a cutie!

Even cuter close up!

Allen wearing Ava's barrette

As hard as I tried, I could not get one single nice picture of the two of them.

I think Ava grabbed Allen's butt ...
Once we got outside and finished the supposed "posed shots," the kids decided to dance. Tony provided the "beat" ...

Ava getting down!

The two of 'em groovin'

And groovin' some more!

He moves like such a white boy ...

And hugs at the end of the night (I can't wait to display this picture at their wedding!)

XOXO my loves, I've got to go to sleep now!

P.S. I'm only five viewers away from the big 500! Let's hope I get five more new viewers in the next couple days!

Adding to the Family?

I'd like your comments and thoughts on this post. Brian and I have the opportunity to adopt a pure-bred Shitzu puppy (pretty much free of charge). Here's a picture of the litter (we're interested in one of the brown ones). What do you think? Should we do it??

Aren't they the sweetest little things? I'm already totally in love with our little "Basil," or "Henricks," or maybe "Oscar"? Also would love your thoughts on names ...

XOXO,

Manhattans

Above is a shot of Allen sitting with Gigi and talking to Nana and Papa (while they were in Grand Cayman). I have lots to share with you, but am so tired these past few days that I cannot form my stories into coherent words. So instead, I post a lovely picture of "the kid," and perhaps an explanation of my inability to post these past few days (ha ha ... just kidding) XOXO, and I'll post real stories soon, I promise.

Aunt "Kissy" making Manhattans for me and her ... is that a large measuring cup she's using to make them? Hmm ... could explain a lot ...

Kissen, Puppies

Today was the grand opening of the Beaufort IHOP. Of course, we had to go. We love going out to breakfast (even when breakfast is at 11:30). Allen had eggs, "cake" (pancakes), berries, and "ceem" (whipped cream). He did a pretty good job with all of it.

We then ran to TJ Maxx to get a couple tops for me. I left with almost nothing, while Allen made out like a bandit! There was a Cars storage case/race track that we got him so he will be able to take all his cars with him next week to Pennsylvania. We also gave in and got him some "chockate" with "spinkles" (non perils). He was in hog heaven with those. I turned around in the car and he had chocolate all over his face, and he was licking his fingers to make sure he got every sprinkle and every bit of chocolate.

After his nap we were off to pick up Kissen from the airport. Since he had not watched Cars yet today, we took our portable DVD player with us and he watched it in the car. Once we got Kristen, Allen enjoyed telling her who the different characters in the movie were. Then we picked up Tink. Lily, and Zoe from Camp Green Dog and Allen was thrilled to have "Yily" sit on his lap the whole way home. He enjoyed it so much that he really wanted Tinky and "Yily" to sit on his "yap" and Nana's house. It was all very sweet, and sadly I have no pictures yet to share with you (though Kristen may have snapped a few).

Other new things he's saying:
  • Empty -- Daddy taught him this word the other day, and he's been saying it every time he sees an empty box or plate or whatever
  • Cars hurt you! (which sounds more like "caws hut chew") -- he says this when we're near the street
  • Special -- usually explaining that someone or something is special

I can't think of anything else at the moment. I'm exhausted and hopped up on Benadryl, so my mind isn't working so well.

Go Phillies (as of now it's tied 2-2 and there is a rain delay)!

XOXO,
